So it seems that New York has welcomed me with opened arms! I got an apartment with an awesome roommate in an awesome neighborhood after only being here for three days, and now after being here for exactly two weeks I got myself a job. The job part was not entirely done myself. My friend Kerel hooked me up with his friend from Scottsdale (whom I've also met a few times in Scottsdale myself), who now lives out here. I did a trial shift last night and passed! The place is called Casa Nonna..which means 'grandmother's house' in Italian. The restaurant itself is not as quaint as the title. It's actually huge! The bar itself though is relatively small. So all and all things are good.
Today I took a walk around my neighborhood, I wasn't to impressed with any particular shot. But the first two are of a group of kids that noticed my camera and wanted me to take a picture of them. I'm not going to lie, it totally made my day! They want them for Face Book, so I'm emailing them the shots. The last shot is of the building in which I live. Sometimes I find myself walking around and can't get it into my head that this is MY neighborhood and I'm not on vacation. I will say I'm still getting lost at least once a day. Last night it took me over an hour to make it home because I got off at the wrong stop and then had to figure out the easiest route home without getting on the wrong train again. I do seem to learn something everytime I get lost. So it's worth it in the end.
That is all I got for you today! I start training on Monday..now I just gotta make that money!
